What are the Best Niche Website ideas?

Bye Bye to the “Golden Age” of the internet, when making money was relatively straightforward.

All you needed to do was create a website and focus on creating content. You could make a decent living through ads and affiliate marketing.

That process continues to work, but it is far more complex today. Nowadays, profitability is highly dependent on your niche.

If your content has an audience, it implies that your website could thrive, and you’re more likely to start generating money from it.

In this post, I’ll cover why your niche is the key. Then, I’ll walk you through how to find/recommend the best profitable niches and website ideas.

Let’s get to it!

What is a Niche?

A niche site is a site that has authority on a small part of a broader market, a narrow topic if you wish.

This implies that you should center your blog on a few specific issues rather than writing and publishing posts on everything.

This is helpful since it informs visitors about your blog’s content and why they should subscribe.

What are Sub Niches?

You can think of sub-niches as an even more targeted niche. It’s one of the most vital points you can take from this blog if you’re just starting.

As an example, Pet Business is a niche but still has a ton of competition. To establish yourself and create a strong authority blog, you need to think smaller.

You could split your niche site into sub-niches such as “pet travel” or “pet travel carriers for cars.” Pet travel carriers for vehicles are a sub-niche within an industry.

There is less competition because it is very focused, and there are many opportunities to earn money fast.

I’ll cover more examples of how this works throughout this blog, but for now, consider how you might narrow your big concept and niche down to create less competition.

Keep in mind that you’ll have to be the clear leader in your particular market. If you lack confidence in being a Top Ten Pet Website, narrow your focus and become known for something more specific.

Now that you understand how essential it is to select the correct topic.

Let’s move on to the list.

What Makes a Profitable Affiliate Marketing Niche Website?

Before we continue further, let’s clarify what makes a “fantastic” affiliate niche for your blog.

Typically, you’d choose a niche where you can earn as much commission as possible with your authority site in the fastest time frame.

However, here are two factors to consider that will help you narrow down your search and find this profitable niche:

1. Low Level of Competition

The primary factor affecting a niche site’s potential earnings is the quantity of search traffic it receives over time.

The more traffic it creates, the more likely visitors will convert into buyers.

Among the different traffic sources available, search engine optimization (SEO) is likely to be the best option from the start.

The objective is to optimize your web content for their target keywords to appear at the top of search engine results pages (SERPs).

2. High Rates of Interest

Low competition on its own is inadequate to decide the size of a niche.

A probable explanation for the intense competition in some industries is a lack of interest. In other words, the industry is irrelevant to the market.

In this instance, you need to find the right balance between identifying a low-competition niche and what people are willing to pay for.

It is the benchmark of Affiliate Niche Marketing.

However, the chances of you coming across one during your research are pretty low.

As you are probably aware, finding profitable affiliate products the traditional way is not easy.

You have to understand how to exploit these platforms to drive visitors to your website effectively.

Your competitors are the primary obstacle to ranking on the first page of Google. It will be challenging competing against established authorities in their niches.

What to Consider

Choosing the best niche website ideas if you plan to make money through affiliate marketing is a long-term decision.

Especially if you want to make your blog big and earn a lot of money with Wealthy Affiliate (some people earn more than $5000 a month), ideally, choose a niche you are excited about to write blog posts even when you don’t feel like it.

Three questions you would need to answer “yes” to:

  • Are you passionate about this niche?
  • Are others passionate about it?
  • Is there enough cash to be made in your niche?

If so, then you’re all set.

The Best Niche Website Ideas

Before we look at these, there is one thing I will say. If your Niche idea isn’t below it doesn’t mean that its not an awesome idea.

As long as you answered yes to the 3 questions above then you can add it to the list.

OK, lets take a look.

1. Health and Wellness

According to the latest report by Research and Market, the global health and wellness market reached a value of $3.31 trillion in 2020.

The growing predominance of chronic lifestyle diseases is one of the key factors driving this market’s growth.

With the coronavirus pandemic raising health concerns, this has spurred many folks to adopt healthier habits.

The product opportunities in this niche are endless: personal care, well being, beauty, fitness, and nutrition.

Besides, the emerging trend of digital products like ebooks, using wearable devices, such as fitness trackers and bands, also boosts the market’s growth.

Get precise with your niche.

Consider the types of people you want to help.

Create your ideal customer (s). You’re unlikely to see a target client browsing through your website every single time.

Ethan Agarwal started Aaptiv, an audio-based fitness app with the simple goal of providing an in-pocket personal trainer.

It’s now become a seven-figure niche business that operates runs on autopilot – and is now the Apple Store’s #1 audio-based fitness app.

2. Pet Niche

Total expenditures for the pet industry in Australia were forecast to be $12.2 billion in 2020.

And more than 60% of Australian households own a pet, and more people express willingness to own one in the future. It offers several opportunities to carve out a niche in this industry, including various pets, lifestyles, and much more.

Our Dogs World 101 is an excellent example of a niche site in this market—it offers flea and tick repellent, natural food, outdoor gear, beds, toys, and much.

However, if you create a website generally about pets, you may have trouble generating an audience. There are a Huge number of pet-related websites, and many of them have teams bloggers.

But, what if you build a website about personalized products with pets’ photos? You could recommend pet accessories, clothing, and more.

You can search and discover the type of products you would like to promote on Amazon but then tailor the website to pet owners. Answer questions and provide helpful tips. Also, in the articles, recommend things that may benefit them as well.

3. Online Dating Service

Matchmaking is one of the oldest professions; online dating is now experiencing a renaissance of its own. Many people may assume that the online dating business is progressively dying.

The adultery website made over $50 million in revenue in 2021 and expects profits of up to $80 million in 2022. Since 2001, the network has grown to 13.2 million users worldwide, including roughly 8 million in the United States.

Bruce Biderman, the founder of Ashley Madison, came up with the concept in 2001 after reading a news report claiming that around 30% of users using dating services were not really single.

“I thought it would be an exciting vertical to follow,” Biderman said.

According to market research company IBISWorld, dating services in the United States generated $3 billion in revenue in 2018, up from the previous year. Around 15% of US adults, or over 50 million people, report utilizing websites or mobile dating apps in their search for romance.

The dating market is booming. As our culture grows more Internet-centric, individuals increasingly turn to the internet to find relationships, restaurants, and romantic places.

If you have concerns, remember that over 1,500 dating apps and sites are competing for the attention of single men and women and matching them with one another.

4. Crocheting

Crocheting and stitching are not just your grandma’s hobbies. I completely embrace my elderly hobby, but I will say this: knitting and crocheting require a high level of skill and good eyesight, making them far better fits for young people than frail elderly folks.

Crocheting is trending right now due to TikTok’s popularity, and it caters to a broad spectrum of skill levels. If you decide to pursue this as a hobby, this niche site concept would be an excellent place to start.

According to Ahrefs, there are 100,000 monthly searches for “how to crochet.” Only half of these searches are in the United States alone, which means that if you are not using Wealthy Affiliate’s resources to create your online business, you could be losing out on half of your commissions.

You can choose from several different niches of crochet: sweaters, blankets, scarfs, socks, hats. You can take one of those niches and break it down even further.

Let’s use hats as our example: hats for babies, pets, personalized hats, beanies, caps, tams. So, if you were to find the niche in this example, it would be the crochet hat for babies. It is a highly specialized market.

If you’ve got a passion for crafting and crocheting: Sarah, the crafter, crocheter, and crock potter behind the blog “Repeat Crafter Me,” offers patterns and tutorials for free to get you started!

5. Expensive Sports

If you have friends or family members who enjoy camping or golfing, you will see that these individuals spend a lot of money on stuff; you will also find sports enthusiasts.

Few sports attract the same level of spending as golf, with the typical player spending thousands of dollars each year. It’s easy to spend hundreds of dollars on a single club, not to mention gadgets, rangefinders, shoes, and balls.

Golf is not the only sport with opportunities like this.

Think of those who like stand-up paddle boarding; a single board can easily cost $300 to $2000 or more.

The SUP Board Guide is an excellent niche website. The site reviews over 50 SUPs and writes detailed board and gear reviews to assist paddle boarders in selecting the best.

Create a high-quality website focused on paddle boards, and you’ll have the chance to earn some serious cash. Plus, you can chuck in any other paddle boarding gear you might want to have, such as oars, storage racks, life jackets, and car racks.

Besides, many companies release new items, apps, and courses each year to improve your uncle’s Buck golf game.

This implies that affiliate marketers will face stiff competition. However, we believe it is still worth their time due to the high demand.

To achieve popularity, establish your sub-niche and create material superior to that of the established players.

6. Web Hosting

Anyone looking to start an online business? First, they need to get a domain name and choose a web host, such as Bluehost.

The global web hosting industry was worth $56.7 billion in 2019. It’s expected to rise at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of more than 15% through 2027

Imagine how often the terms “how to start a blog” and “how to earn money online for free” are searched in the United States alone each month.

Web hosting companies are well-known for their large commissions on new customers. A website’s hosting charges range from $2.49 to $700 per month.

As a result, there is considerable competition for relevant search phrases. However, with a bit of creativity, you can still earn a good living in this niche.

You can find that there is too much competition for a pure “web hosting review site.” Still, by sticking to our idea of a “sub-niche,” you could make it a little more targeted and be successful.

Perhaps you specialize in helping retirees create a side hustle and then propose web hosting and domain name providers to that market.

Or, you may focus on a specific area, such as freelance writers who want portfolio sites, and personalize your reviews to their particular needs.

With this niche, you should first target any entrepreneurial audience before recommending web hosting.

7. Digital Marketing Niche

Many people quit during the pandemic, even as businesses anxiously eye what has been named “the Great Resignation.” Still, the pandemic has inspired another motivation: making money online.

Right now, digital marketing is one of the most competitive affiliate marketing and blogging niches. Digital marketing is a vast area that has been continuously growing in popularity over the years.

For example, “Bonobos just wanted to get that one thing right — men’s pants.”

Bonobos achieved $1 million in sales six months after launching their first online shop.

The brand sends targeted emails to clients who are most likely to buy certain things and makes personalized recommendations based on their prior experiences with the brand.

The brand has grown since then to include shirts, suits, and shoes.

With the decline in reliance on traditional advertising strategies, most people strive to improve their digital marketing skills.

Digital marketing applies to all types of marketing through search engines, sites, social media platforms, mobile apps, and email.

Businesses are now focusing on updating their online footprint and spreading the brand’s products and services. The advantages of using intelligent SEO strategies in your industry are almost unlimited.

The benefit of being a part of the digital marketing niche is that we all engage in digital marketing daily. Digital marketing activities include attempting to get Instagram followers, constantly uploading content, and making gif-inspired emails.

Sub-niches to consider within the digital marketing niche include the following:

Social media marketing: it involves generating social traffic through social media platforms. Your blog content will increase your audience on social media networks like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

  1. Hi Mark,

Thank you for the review on flippa. As it so happens I had heard of flippa before and visited their site. If you have a brand new site less than 30-60 days I think it was, you can’t even list the site. It has to be established for the metrics to even show up, like traffic etc. At least that was my understanding. On a side note I sure recall back in the mid-late 90’s when the internet was just beginning to boom for most. My friends son was snapping up domains for 99 cents to hold and sell later! I sure wish I had understood what that was all about! 🙂

  2. Online dating was a surprising section. Surprising, but also a brilliant idea, not one that came to my mind when I was looking at niches. That’s really thinking outside the box.

It is very true with what you say about making your niche small. It makes perfect sense. You would be easier to find for those who are looking for something specific, making your site rise to the top of the search engines. My first mistake when I started out building a website was to not go niche enough. I learnt the hard way. Going small is indeed your best chance of making it big.

  3. Great advice, and even better niche ideas!

Being passionate about a topic is the first step in finding your area of expertise on the internet, but as you said, it requires much more than that. You will need to research the heck out of it, and then research all the little sub-niches that could result. Do this and you have paved your way to a six-figure business, now all you need is to follow it!

  4. I currently have a niche that is all about protein shakes and working out. Do you think it is a good niche? Do you also think that it is a lucrative niche? I believe that it is quite a good niche seeing that it is all about health and fitness. Thank you for this article.

    • Hi Daniel,

Health in general is an awesome Niche, I mean who doesn’t want to stay healthy?

I love that you have broken that niche down into Protein Shakes and Working out as it targets a specific audience who know exactly what it is in the Health category they want.

I have been doing this on and off for about 13 years now.

      Mark

  5. Hi Mark

Great advice. I recall when I first started an online business, I was totally overwhelmed by all the possible niches out there. I was not sure about whether I made the right choice. But, as you explained in your article, the 3 pillars of a good niche are:

    1. Are you passionate about your niche?

    2. Are others passionate about your niche?

    3. Can you make money from your niche?

This article is perfect for newbies to the online business market.

    Regards

    Les
